An independent, ad-free journal for travellers who want to know the Andaman Islands honestly — and keep them worth knowing.
Our story
Andaman Travel Tree began as a notebook — a running list of beaches, ferries and small kitchens worth remembering, passed between a handful of friends who kept returning to the islands. The notes grew, and so did the questions from people planning their own first trip.
Today we're a small editorial team based in Seattle, writing for readers everywhere. We publish guides, field notes and essays about the Andamans, and nothing else. We don't run tours, take bookings, or sell anyone's holiday.
How we work
Three simple rules, applied to everything we publish.
This journal carries no advertising and no sponsored reviews. Nobody pays to appear here, so nothing we write is for sale.
Every guide is researched and written in-house, from first-hand visits. We'd rather publish less and mean it.
We only cover places that welcome visitors, and we never trade a fragile reef or a closed reserve for a better story.
What we are not
This is an important distinction. Andaman Travel Tree is a publisher. We do not process payments, issue tickets, arrange tours or take responsibility for any booking. When you decide to travel, you arrange it directly with the relevant airline, ferry, hotel or operator — under their terms, not ours.
We make our money the old-fashioned way for a small publication: we keep it lean, and one day we may ask readers who value the work to support it directly. Until then, the journal stays free and ad-free.
